The key to choosing the perfect pair of sunglasses is to find a pair that complements the shape of your face. To do this, you first need to determine the shape of your face. There are four main categories of face shapes, round, square, oval, and heart. It is easiest to determine your face shape from a photograph. Take a picture of yourself facing the camera, then trace the outline of your face to see what shape it most resembles. Remember to start at your hairline, not where your bangs stop.

Once you have determined the shape of your face, picking the perfect pair of shades is simple. Round faces need to add length to balance out their shape. The easiest way to elongate a round face is with a pair of rectangle shaped sunglasses. Also, look for sunglasses with thick frames, this also helps to break up the circle of a round face.

If you want to soften a square face the trick is to add some curves. Round or oval sunglasses have the dramatic curves needed for this. Also, avoid thick frames. Thick frames tend to look harsh and only add to the dominance of a square face. Try thin wire frames or even frameless sunlasses.

The options are limitless for oval shaped faces. Almost any shape, size and frame width looks great on an oval face. The only thing an oval face needs to avoid are oval shaped sunglasses. Other than that, the options are limitless. Any color, any pattern or design all work well with an oval shaped face.

Heart shaped faces want to pull attention away from the chin. The best way to do this is to add drama to your eyes. Oversized, thick framed glasses do the trick. Think Jackie O. Heart shapes also can look for bright colored sunglasses. Anything that draws attention to the eye area, will draw attention away from the chin area.

The only way to find the right shades for you is to try them on. Follow these few simple guidelines to get you started and before long you will have the perfect pair of sunglasses for the shape of your face.

Sunglasses are not only used for fashion, they can be used to protect and shield your eyes from the sun and keep harmful UV rays from your eyes. No matter the season, sunglasses should be worn. There are many different types of sunglasses that are available for you to choose, depending on your needs and budget. Before buying sunglasses, be sure to check the UV protection factor.

Now, lets talk about glare. It can cause some huge problems, especially when driving. It can come from snow, shiny surfaces and buildings. Glare causes you to have to squint in order to see properly, and can also be fairly painful at times. You can get sunglasses specifically made to reduce glare, so check into it if you're on the road a lot. Whether it be from the sun or other cars, you'll be glad you made the investment to help rid yourself of the problem.

The biggest problem you face is ultraviolet rays, or UV rays which come from the sun. They are intensified when reflected, and long term exposure to these can cause a condition called photokeratitis. Its only temporary, but its basically sunburn on the surface of your eyes. They can also cause cataracts, and age-related macular degenaration, also known as AMD.

Before you buy a pair of sunglasses, try them out first! See how they feel and look, make sure they have 99 to 100 percent UV A or B protection. If it doesn't say or you aren't sure, ask the assistant or an eye care profession for some help. The bigger the lenses are, the better. Make sure they are big enough to block out the majority of light. You'll also want them to be dark enough to reduce glare, but not so much that it'll interfere with street lights, signs or anything else of importance. One way to check if they are dark enough would be to look at yourself in a mirror, can you see your eyes? If so, you'll probably want to go with something a bit darker. Lastly, don't forget your kids! The same goes for them, but you might want to look into polycarbonate lenses as they are more shatter-proof and should last a bit longer.

Fashion always offers unpredictable turns and designs to us and then resurges. One item that never goes out of season is a pair of high quality designer sunglasses.

Couture high end designers such as Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana and Versace, design sunglasses that you can never go wrong with. Add Ralph Lauren’s tribute to the iconic musical figure, John Lennon, Sonia Rykiel’s unusual horn rim model and Michael Kors re-introduction of the aviators reminiscence from World War I; these and others will have long term staying power in your wardrobe.

Dress simply and add a pair of designer shades and you’ll become instantly and totally chic.

Sunglasses are just like shoes; one pair isn't enough to fulfill your wardrobe needs. Complement your individual style by purchasing a pair of new designer sunglasses. You do not have to break the bank in order to own a pair. There a multiple number of ways where you can save big time.

Shop On-line:

Shopping online is perhaps the easiest way to find cheap designer sunglasses and is literally only a click away to obtain a super cool pair. Be sure to only check reputable online retail stores. Sometime auction sites may offer a wide selection of designer shades. Learn about the seller on the auction sites by reading up the number of sales they have had, rating and their clients comments.

Fine Department Stores:

In order to make room for the latest designer shades, department stores need to clear out their unsold existing inventory. This means that you can easily take advantage of obtaining high end designer sunglasses at a tremendous savings that are sometimes even unadvertised. A word of note; if you are a regular shopper, stop by the accessories department and leave your name, email or phone number. Advise the manager of that department to contact you if anything is scheduled to go on sale.

Bargain Fashion Places:

This is a staple for the fashion-conscious shoppers seeking high couture styles on a low budget. Bargains can be found for designer sunglasses spontaneously these stores. It may be a hit or miss but if checked weekly, you are bound to find some high end shades at bargain basement prices.

Designer Outlet Stores:

You can save probably at least 20% off the standard retail price here and even more during sales. As with department stores, leave a contact number to advise you when they are planning on a clearance.

Flea Markets:

One of the final places you may want to check for stylish sunglasses that are cheap is at local flea markets. This can be tricky as many counterfeit or replicas are being sold as the real thing. Make a mental picture by visiting a store that sells authentic designer sunglasses and note the details. Don’t waste your time purchasing fakes, as the quality is likely to be extremely low and in the long run not worth the price.

Once you set your eyes to it, you’ll discover that locating a pair of exclusive designer sunglasses is not difficult at all. You will be fashionable, stylish and have the benefit of protecting those lovely peepers at a great savings.
